The 9th meeting between Polish and Lithuanian cultural heritage experts
Following the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and the Government of the Republic of Poland on Cooperation in the Area of Protection of Cultural Heritage signed in Warsaw on 16 December 1999, the 9th bilateral meeting between Polish and Lithuanian cultural heritage expert groups was held in Gdansk (Poland) on 29-30 June this year.
A two-day meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, the Department of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, the National Heritage Board as well as other Lithuanian and Polish bodies of culture and cultural heritage.
During the meeting, the parties made an assessment and summarised the cooperation between Lithuania and Poland in the area of cultural heritage following the 8th meeting between Polish and Lithuanian cultural heritage expert groups held on 3-4 April 2014 in Vilnius, discussed issues relevant to both countries in the area of cultural heritage protection. A Protocol on Further Mutual Cooperation Actions, i.e. undertaking research works as well as conservation and restoration projects in sites relevant to both countries, launching a cultural route “Europe of the Jagiellonian dynasty”, sharing relevant information, etc., was signed at the meeting.
